New Release – January 2023

SOME CUD TO CHEW ON – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2022 gave The Cow Patti Theatre Company many blessings, after the 2 1/2 years of turmoil we opened Hurry Hard by Kristen DaSilva on November 18th - which resulted in our biggest hit in our 26 years of producing Live Professional Comedy Theatre.

Our comfortable and inviting new theatre space in Lacombe County, at The Tin Roof Event Center, is working out wonderfully where we continue to welcome all of our regular patrons and an astonishing amount of new folks, traveling in from all parts of Alberta to enjoy our shows.

Cow Patti Presents Doris & ivy in the Home by Norm Foster

We're pretty darn excited at Cow Patti to be producing, for the first time, in Western Canada – “Doris an Ivy in the Home” by comedic genius Norm Foster which will be on our stage, beginning on March 9 till April 2, 2023 “One of the exciting aspects of any theatre’s season is producing a show never before seen on stage,” Head Cow AnnaMarie Leas said. “And when it’s a new show, by audience favourite comic master Norm Foster, it’s even more exciting.”

Foster has written over 87 plays and Cow Patti has produced many of them on its stage. As for Doris and Ivy in the Home, running until April 2. Lea says she believes it’s destined to be one of Foster’s classic hits. Why has Cow Patti produced a Norm Foster Show every season for many, many years ‘cause he makes us all LOL!!

To me, the best humour is the laugh that you don’t see coming. The laugh that surprises you.” Norm Foster

Audiences love Foster’s brand of comedy because he writes about them, his characters are everyday people experiencing the ups and downs of life.  His plays are hilarious. They’re also thought-provoking. They reel you in with laughter and then deal with the challenges that we all face at some time in our lives. “you leave Cow Patti having been thoroughly entertained by the characters and situations that remind you of people you know – MAYBE EVEN YOURSELF - want our audiences to leave feeling and knowing that they've had a great laugh but if they so desire, they have something they can chew on.”

Last season, Cow Patti brought you the hit Jonas and Barry in the Home by Norm Foster and we are pretty excited to be telling you a new story about Doris and Ivy and to do that we will combine FOSTER’S new characters: the Dean of Arts at the University of Calgary, a Prison Guard from Drumheller AB and an Austrian World Champion Downhill Skier and what will be the result?.... ..PURE COMEDY, CHAOS and CONTEMPLATION

To quote Norman Foster “I like to begin with a stock character but then I start to turn them around, take a left turn somewhere and bring them somewhere else and that surprises my audiences.
