While the actors may be running around slamming doors on stage, there’s one person behind the scenes making sure it all goes off without a hitch—Stage Manager Abby Gagnon! With only two years in the business, she’s already proving that a well-timed farce (and a theatre production in general) is only as good as the person keeping everything on schedule.
What does she love about farce? “It’s a fast-paced show where you don’t stop laughing! Oh, and lots of doors!” (She’s not wrong—if the set has fewer than six doors, is it even a farce?)
Alberta’s breathtaking nature keeps her grounded, but her heart is also set on Italy, both as a dream honeymoon spot and—let’s be honest—the best place for the perfect pasta dish, her go-to wedding meal. When she’s not managing chaos backstage, she’s diving into a good book (Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason), catching every episode of The Real Housewives (every franchise, no exceptions), or belting out tunes from Wicked.
And while she hasn’t worked with a big-name celebrity (yet!), she treasures every single person she’s had the pleasure to collaborate with. Her best advice to her younger self? Don’t stress so much—enjoy the moments. (Wise words for both theatre and life!)
With Abby behind the scenes, Perfect Wedding is in expert hands. After all, managing a farce requires split-second timing, quick problem-solving, and—above all—a great sense of humor. And Abby has all three in spades!
